Abstract: With the awareness of energy conservation and environmental protection constantly enhanced, the reliability and the lightweight design of the equipments used in coal mine had become hot issues and key technologies. At present in the area of the structural strength analysis of the underground dump truck, the pre-estimate of applied stress usually depend on human experience and simple calculation, which led to large deviation between the analysis result and the actual stress state of the truck-body. In the paper, the discrete element method was introduced into the finite element strength check. Depend on the establishment of coal material's discrete element model and the simulation of the material loaded process, the applied force of the truck body from coal material discrete element could be acquired. Then the finite element software could conduct coupling and strength checking under the obtained data. Through this method, the finite element model could be applied genuine and reliable forces, and the stress and the strain of tuck body could be figured out correctly. The more reliable truck hopper's stress state could be obtained by scale factor calculated. The improvement of underground dump truck design and the increasement of productive efficiency could be benefited from the research.
